2004 Section 8A Teams / Players & Awards For All-Section 8A / All-Mariucci Conference / All-State Tournament / All-State Awards

The following information was given to Section 8A Site by the Warroad Pioneer. If any reader should have more archives regarding Section 8A and/or the Mariucci Conference or any other Minnesota Conference that pertains to Section 8A hockey please submit.

ALL-SECTION 8A:

Warroad was rewarded for their 2nd consecutive undefeated season in Section 8A play, as (5) Warriors were voted by the Section Coaches to the All-Section 8A team. Hardwick, Hasbargen and Olimb received the necessary # of votes as defenseman, and Oshie and Gabe Harren made it as forwards.

Other members of the All-Section 8A team were:

Goalie Justin Klinkhammer, forward Aaron Bendickson and forward Alec Holen of TRF; defenseman Aaron Gens, defenseman Brett Nylander, forward Brent Olson of Lake of the Woods; goalie Tyler Johnson and forward Matt Stengl of EGF; forward Tyler Lehrke of Park Rapids, and forward Donavan Haugstad of Kittson Central. Section 8A Head Coach of the year was Cary Eades of Warroad, and Warroad's Dennis Fermoyle and Baudette's Steve Olson shared assistant honors.

ALL-MARIUCCI CONFERENCE:

Warrior Goalie Tony Sorrels finally recieved some recognition for his outstanding season as he was named to the All-Mariucci Conference team. Hardwick, Hasbargen, Oshie and Harren were also voted All-Mariucci.

Other members included Moorhead's defenseman Brian Lee, defenseman Jon Ammerman, forward Brian Gifford and forward Nick Deutz; TRF's goalie Justin Klinkhammer, forward Alec Holen and forward Aaron Bendickson ; and Bemidji's defenseman Channing Boe, and forward Jesse Echternach. Dave Morinville of Moorhead and Warroad's Cary Eades tied in voting and were named Co-Coaches of the year for the Mariucci Conference.

MINNESOTA ALL-STATE TEAM:

Junior forward T.J. Oshie earned All-State (2nd team) honors on both of theAssociated Press and Pioneer Press teams. Oshie finished 3rd in the State inscoring with 43 goals and 42 assists for 85 points. Honorable Mention All-State certificates were awarded to defenseman Kyle Hardwick,Eric Olimb, Andrew Hasbargen, and goalie Tony Sorrels
